Preparing Your Home for the Holidays

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

You know the drill. Every year, right after the holidays have passed you vow to have your kitchen remodeled, your basement renovated or your addition in place in time for next year’s festivities. And yet, every year you get busy. Summer comes and goes and, before you know it, November is upon us again. We know how it goes! This year, beat the cycle and have your project done before the first holiday turkey is placed in the oven by better understanding your project timeline.  Call us now and begin your project to have your home in tip-top shape for the holidays.

Keep in mind that however long your project is expected to take in terms of construction, it is likely that an equal amount of time will be spent in planning and preparation. For example, a one month project will likely take one month to plan in addition to one month of implementation. By allowing yourself plenty of time on the front end, you will help ensure that the project you end up with is the one you want, design mistakes will be eliminated, and you will have time to thoughtfully consider your plans. With that in mind, let’s get started on your holiday projects today! Check out our design galleries for inspiration and contact us today to begin your project planning.

Eden Prairie Kitchen Remodeled in One Day

Monday, June 25th, 2012

We just wrapped a great kitchen remodel in an Eden Prairie home! The house was part of a town home development built in the 1970’s. The homeowner wanted to update and beautify her kitchen and bring some extra life into the room. This meant replacing her laminate countertops, trading out her stainless steel sink, and otherwise upgrading the space.

To begin, we went shopping with the homeowner to assist her in picking out the perfect granite countertop and plumbing supplies. In addition to making the changes noted above, we also replaced a broken faucet and installed a garbage disposal, making her kitchen more functional for everyday use.

However, our real feat for this project was the timeliness within which we were able to complete it. For this project we were able to get in and out in just one day! Our homeowner was excited to learn that in just twenty-four hour we could organize the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and granite installers necessary for a project of this size. We started construction first thing in the morning and by the end of the day we were able to provide a brand new space!

“Each morning I come down to my living area and find myself smiling as I run my hand over the gleaming new surfaces in the kitchen! This was my gift to myself for my 85th birthday. A design expert and most courteous gentleman by the name of Paul Weld came by after I contacted Sass. He orchestrated the project, carefully listening to my vision and brought material samples until we had the perfect choice. He was on time, courteous, helpful and quick to grasp my ideas-making the process truly enjoyable. I’m having fun inviting my friends over to surprise them! Thanks to Paul and the exceptional workmen!” – Norma

Sass Construction: Lead Certified Remodeler

New Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards dictate that remodelers follow new guidelines for lead safe renovation. All sanding, drilling and demolition work performed at any home built before 1978 must be done by a licensed, Lead Certified Remodeler following the stringent new lead-safe practices to ensure the safety of homeowners.
How does this affect you as a homeowner? If you are planning a home remodel or other home improvement project and your home was built before 1978, seek out a contractor that has the EPA lead certification. Sass Construction is a certified lead remodeler and has completed the concentrated training course about the protective measures that will be taken to keep families, workers and the remodelers safe during renovation.

Phased Home Remodeling

Monday, January 18th, 2010

If you’re looking to make changes to your home and you feel a bit concerned, maybe you should think about breaking it down into a series of remodeling projects that fit your schedule, budget and lifestyle.  Many of our past customers have broken remodeling projects down into stages that have gone over several months or even several years.  Phased remodeling projects are part of a larger trend in American consciousness, which Trendwatching Magazine calls “Foreverism.”  People have a desire to continue conversations, relationships and projects over time with people they trust.

Whether it’s remodeling, renovation, or home maintenance, trust the Sass team for smart home solutions.  Contact Sass at 952-474-4568 or visit our website at www.sassconstruction.com.  We look forward to hearing from you!
